About this resource
This initiative provides nutritional support and educational resources for low-income pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children younger than five years old. Families can receive benefits estimated at approximately $150 per month. During the summer months, participants may also obtain extra vouchers for farmers markets.
To apply, individuals can either call or fill out an online form to get information on eligibility and scheduling an appointment. Services can be offered at home, in the office, or at alternate locations. A nutrition assessment is conducted to evaluate nutritional risks. Fathers, grandparents, and other caregivers are also permitted to enroll their children in the WIC program.
There are no fees associated with this program.
Who can use this
- Residents of Washington state with an income at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level and who face nutritional risks are eligible, including pregnant or postpartum individuals, breastfeeding parents, and children under five; those receiving Basic Food benefits, WA Apple Health (Medicaid), or TANF may also qualify.
