Application Process: For more details, you can call, complete an online application, or visit a licensing office, including city offices. All licensing locations can be found on the website. During the summer and fall, King County canvassers also go door to door selling pet licenses.

Fees: The annual licensing fees are as follows: $60 for unaltered dogs/cats, $30 for altered dogs/cats, $15 for seniors/disabled individuals, and service animals are free. A replacement license costs $5.

Who can use this

There are no restrictions for obtaining pet licenses. In most areas of King County, all dogs and cats aged 8 weeks or older must have a license. To qualify for the senior/disabled discount, the pet owner must be at least 65 years old or have a documented disability, and the pet must be altered. For service animals, the owner must provide documentation of their disability and a statement confirming the animal's status as a service animal. A service animal is defined as any animal trained or in training to assist individuals who are blind, hearing impaired, or disabled, and must be registered with a recognized service animal organization. The pet must be altered.
