This service offers complimentary legal support to low-income tenants who are attending eviction hearings at the courthouse, with assistance provided on a drop-in basis.
Intake Procedure: To receive legal help, it is recommended to visit one of our legal clinics (addresses listed below). Attorney consultations are available from Monday to Friday, between 10am and 12pm. Seattle Location: King County Courthouse at 516 3rd Ave #W-325, Seattle WA 98104 Kent Location: 401 4th Ave N #1281, Kent WA 98032. Tenants unable to visit a clinic can fill out an accommodation request using this link: https://airtable.com/appZR9jtKuczKKhwR/pag2ocfQTrORIlG1o/form. Additionally, tenants may reach out via email at hjpstaff@kcba.org.
Fees: There are no charges for this service.
Who can use this
- This program assists low-income residential tenants in King County who are facing eviction, specifically those at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. It does not provide services to landlords and cannot assist tenants who have vacated the unit. Help may still be available if a writ has been issued but the sheriff has not yet evicted the tenant, and support can be provided even without a rental agreement.
