This program provides care coordination and support related to pregnancy and parenting, including home visits for individuals on Medicaid and first-time parents. It also offers help and guidance to families with children facing complex medical challenges.

Intake Process: To get started, call for an appointment. Services can be provided in the clinic, at a client's residence, within the community, via phone, or through video calls. Family Ways participants can self-refer by calling or visiting the website.

Costs: There are no fees involved. The service only bills WA Apple Health (Medicaid) and is free for Family Ways participants, who do not incur charges for services.

Who can use this

First Steps: Participants must be receiving or eligible for WA Apple Health (Medicaid). Nurse-Family Partnership: assists low-income pregnant individuals with their first child and their infant until they reach 2 years old. Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs: supports families with children aged birth to 18 who have complex health issues or newly diagnosed conditions requiring assistance. Family Ways: is available to all families identifying as part of three community groups (Native American/Alaska Native, Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian, and U.S. born Black/African American) who are pregnant or parenting children up to age 5, with no income restrictions. Participants need to reside in King County.
