Offers a safe haven for homeless pregnant women and single-parent families with children aged 17 and under.
Intake Process: Applications can be submitted via the website or by phone for further guidance. Individuals can also visit in person to apply from Monday to Friday between 11 AM and 2 PM. Only applications submitted within the last 60 days will be reviewed when openings arise. Families who have not received communication from Vine Maple Place within 60 days of applying are advised to re-submit their application to ensure it remains active. The agency does not keep a waiting list and prioritizes applicants based on urgent needs.
Costs: There is a $50 security deposit and a monthly fee of $50 for the program. A deposit waiver may be available for those who cannot afford it.
Who can use this
- The program is designed for homeless single-parent families with children, particularly single mothers, and pregnant women. It serves families in Maple Valley and nearby areas within a 16-mile radius, including Maple Valley, Black Diamond, Ravensdale, Covington, Auburn, Kent, and Renton, as well as those with ties to the region. It can accommodate domestic violence victims who are not currently being pursued. Service animals are permitted with appropriate documentation, while pets are not allowed in the shelter. Applicants must pass a background check and drug test, with those having a criminal history evaluated individually. No income is required to apply, but applicants must be open to employment.
