Community Resource

Serves: Redmond, King County

About this resource

This program offers seasonal financial aid to households that meet income eligibility criteria for heating and energy expenses; appointments can be made via phone or online, and there is no requirement for an overdue bill or shut-off notice. Additionally, a limited number of air conditioning units are available for those who qualify for LIHEAP this season.

Application Process: If your power has been disconnected or is scheduled to be disconnected within the next 24 hours, you can email your disconnection notice or call your local Hopelink office, where you will likely reach voicemail. Leave a comprehensive message, and Hopelink will return your call promptly. Include your name, phone number, shut-off date, utility provider's name, and energy account number if relevant. For PSE HELP, you can apply online without needing an appointment. If your power is not yet disconnected, you can apply for LIHEAP by scheduling an appointment either in person or by phone. It is advisable to use the website for quicker access to appointments, where you can view the full availability calendar and select a convenient date and time. The phone line provides only the next available appointment and operates 24/7. Be ready to carefully listen to the recording and note down all necessary documentation for your appointment. Both the phone and website access the same appointment pool, with new slots released every Monday at 9 am. If there are no available appointments, try again the following week. When scheduling, you can choose between a phone or a limited number of in-person appointments, as main office line cannot be used for scheduling. If you have a phone appointment, your specialist will inform you about the required documents during the call. If you have already submitted a mail-out application, a phone appointment is not necessary. If uncertain, it is recommended to schedule a phone appointment for assistance with the application.

  • Residents of north and east King County with a gross household income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level for LIHEAP and net household income at or below 80% Area Median Income for SHEAP and PSE HELP may qualify for assistance.
