Intake Process: Contact via phone or visit the website for the latest application details. Applicants are required to attend a homeowner orientation, fill out an application, and take part in an interview. After a family submits their application and is accepted by Habitat for Humanity, it typically takes 3-6 months for home rehabilitations and 12-18 months for new home constructions.
Costs: Participants are responsible for making monthly mortgage payments, which are calculated at 30% of their gross income.
Who can use this
- Individuals or families in need of housing with an annual income ranging from 30-60% of the Area Median Income. For veterans, the income requirement is 30-80% of the Area Median Income. The total debt of the family, including house payments and all other debts, must not exceed 43% of their gross income. Families must also demonstrate creditworthiness, and any bankruptcies filed within the last three years must be resolved, with all liens or judgments settled before acquiring a Habitat home.
