About this resource
This initiative supports low-income youth in Seattle in their preparation for post-secondary education by providing tutoring and fostering leadership skills. It is available to students in 9th and 10th grades at Garfield or Rainier Beach high schools, specifically for those who are the first in their families to graduate from college. Intake Process: Interested individuals should call 206-386-1027 or contact the Upward Bound Counselor at Garfield (206-300-4270) or Rainier Beach (206-276-2782) High School to learn how to apply. Cost: There are no fees associated with the program.
Who can use this
- Students must meet the following criteria to qualify: - Be enrolled in 9th or 10th grade at Rainier Beach or Garfield high schools - Be a U.S. citizen or possess a permanent resident card - Come from low-income families according to U.S. Department of Education standards - Be the first in their family to graduate from college - Require academic assistance while demonstrating potential for college-level work, along with needing help with college applications, funding, and transition support.
