ChildcareEnrolling

City Of Seattle's Department Of Education And Early Learning

Community Resource

Serves: Seattle, King County

About this resource

This initiative provides a financial subsidy between 25% and 70% of the average child care expenses in Seattle for residents requiring assistance. It is designed for families whose income exceeds the eligibility criteria for the DSHS Working Connections program.

Intake Process: Families undergo a pre-screening via phone or email, where they are asked about their gross monthly income, family size, and contact details. If they meet the necessary guidelines, they will receive an application and be assigned a Parent Intake Representative (PIR) to assist with the application process.

Fees: The subsidy amount from the city of Seattle is determined by factors such as family income, size, and the child's age. Families are responsible for covering the difference between the standard fee of the child care program and the subsidized amount provided by the city.
