About this resource

This ongoing visitation initiative connects trained volunteers with isolated seniors, promoting friendly interactions either remotely or in person two to three times each month. Participants, both volunteers and elders, also partake in a summer picnic and a holiday celebration.

Intake Procedure: Interested volunteers can find application forms and participant referral documents on the website or by making a phone call.

Fees: There are no associated costs.

Who can use this

PARTICIPANTS: Residents of King County aged 60 and above who seek visits twice a month, live independently and alone, and lack regular family visits. The program does not cater to seniors with moderate to advanced dementia. VOLUNTEERS: Must be at least 18 years old, agree to visit twice a month for a minimum of one year, and successfully complete a pre-screening, interview, reference, and background checks. They must also attend a 2.5-hour training session.
