About this resource

This program grants property tax exemptions and deferrals for seniors, low-income individuals, those with disabilities, and veterans, with differing eligibility criteria for each initiative.

Application Process: Interested individuals can call or visit in person, with forms accessible online. For the Limited Income Deferral, the first half of the property taxes due by April 30 must be paid prior to applying for the deferral on the second installment, which is due by October 31. The interest rate for the deferral is calculated based on the average federal short-term rate plus an additional 2 percent. Applications must be submitted by September 1 each year.

Fees: There are no associated fees.
