About this resource
This service provides complimentary legal support to tenants dealing with landlord disputes, including eviction threats. Attorneys are available to offer legal advice and make referrals.
Intake Process: To access legal assistance, it is recommended to visit one of our legal clinics (addresses listed below). Consultations with attorneys are available Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 12 PM. Seattle Location: King County Courthouse at 516 3rd Ave #W-325, Seattle WA 98104 Kent Location: 401 4th Ave N #1281, Kent WA 98032. Tenants unable to visit a clinic can fill out an accommodation request at this link: https://airtable.com/appZR9jtKuczKKhwR/pag2ocfQTrORIlG1o/form. Additionally, tenants can reach out via email at hjpstaff@kcba.org.
Cost: There are no fees for this service.
Who can use this
- Residents of King County facing eviction disputes with their landlords are eligible for assistance, but help cannot be provided for issues solely related to repairs, deposits, or disputes involving roommates, past due balances, commercial tenants, or foreclosures. Assistance is not available for evictions from emergency shelters or residential care facilities, but may be provided for evictions from permanent, transitional, and manufactured housing, even without a rental contract or lease.
