Seattle Housing Authority

This initiative provides cost-effective housing for low-income seniors and people with disabilities earning less than 80% of the median income. It manages 23 multi-family residences throughout Seattle, primarily with one-bedroom units.

Application Process: Interested individuals can apply online or download and print the application from the website. Interpreters can be arranged in advance. Applicants will be placed on waiting lists specific to each site, which may take one to two years or longer. Those eligible can be on both the Seattle Senior Housing Program waiting list and the Low Income Public Housing waiting list at the same time. Additionally, applicants on the Seattle Senior Housing Program waiting list must engage in the Save My Spot system.

Fees: There are no application fees. As of January 1, 2023, the minimum rent is set at $340, with annual updates every January. Security deposits are required when leasing and depend on the number of bedrooms and the size of the unit.
