Offers financial assistance to veterans with limited income who qualify. The pension amount may be raised if the veteran or their surviving spouse needs help with daily living tasks or is confined to their home.

Who can use this
- To qualify for the pension, applicants must have been discharged under conditions other than dishonorable, served at least 90 days of active duty (including one day during wartime), have a countable income below the maximum pension rate, and meet net worth criteria. Additionally, applicants must be 65 or older, have a permanent non-service-connected disability, reside in a nursing home, or receive Social Security benefits. Veterans who began active duty after September 7, 1980, must have at least 24 months of service, or complete a full tour if less than 24 months. For Aid and Attendance, applicants must qualify for basic pension benefits and need assistance with daily activities, be bedridden, reside in a nursing home due to incapacity, or have severe vision impairment. For Housebound benefits, applicants must qualify for basic pension benefits, have a 100% disabling condition, and be permanently confined to their residence.
