About this resource
Veterans are permitted to access health care services from non-VA doctors if they satisfy particular eligibility criteria, such as experiencing a wait time for care exceeding 30 days or residing more than 40 miles from a VA care center.
Intake Procedure: For inquiries regarding eligibility, please contact our Enrollment & Eligibility office at 800-329-8387, extension 76542, during weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Fees: There are no associated fees.
Who can use this
- To qualify, veterans must be enrolled in VA health care and meet at least one of the following conditions: waiting over 30 days for VA medical care, living more than 40 miles from a VA facility, or facing significant travel challenges.
