Community Resource
About this resource
This initiative provides financial support to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. The available programs include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
Intake Process: Individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO) to get an application. Once the online or paper application is submitted, DSHS will issue a letter detailing the interview requirements. Clients of DSHS in need of urgent financial help should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone line features a callback option (virtual hold) allowing callers to enter their number and receive a return call when it's their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives; the initial contact will be a navigator who assesses the call to determine the best assistance for the caller's needs.
Costs: There are no fees involved.
