About this resource
This program offers financial support to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. The available programs include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
Intake Procedure: To apply, individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO). Upon receipt of the online or paper application, DSHS will send a letter outlining the interview requirements. Clients in need of urgent financial assistance should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone service features a callback option (virtual hold) where callers can provide their phone number and receive a return call when it is their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives; initially, a navigator will assess the call to determine if they can assist or if another qualified person should take over.
