About this resource
This initiative provides financial support to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. The available programs include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
To apply, individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO) to get an application. Once the online or paper application is submitted, DSHS will send a letter detailing the interview process. Those needing emergency financial aid should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone line offers a callback feature (virtual hold) allowing callers to enter their number and receive a return call when it's their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives, starting with a navigator who will assess the call to determine the best assistance available.
