About this resource
This program offers essential support to HEN eligible individuals, including personal care items such as toiletries, toothpaste, shampoo, laundry and dish soap, as well as bus passes. If funds permit, financial aid may be available for rent, utilities, and moving expenses.
Intake Procedure: Applications can be submitted in person at a DSHS Community Services Office, online at washingtonconnection.org, or by contacting the DSHS Customer Service line. After assessing medical and financial eligibility, DSHS will refer applicants to the appropriate regional HEN provider.
Fees: There are no associated fees.
Who can use this
- The program is designed for low-income adults at risk of homelessness who cannot work for at least 90 days due to physical or mental health issues and are not eligible for the Aged, Blind or Disabled cash assistance program, with eligibility confirmed by DSHS.
