Pierce Transit

SHUTTLE caters to individuals with disabilities who are unable to access or utilize conventional bus services. It offers door-to-door transport or connections to accessible bus routes. An application must be submitted, and certification is required to utilize the service.

Intake Process: To request an application, call (253) 581-8000, selecting option 1 and then option 2. Complete the application, detailing the limitations imposed by your disability, and include contact details for all relevant healthcare providers on the information release form. The certification process can take up to 21 days after Pierce Transit receives the necessary documentation. Additionally, Pierce Transit may require the applicant to undergo an in-person functional assessment at their expense. Following the completion of the process, an eligibility determination letter will be sent to the applicant. For those already registered, trips can be scheduled by calling the customer service line at (253) 581-8000 and following the prompts. Trips can be arranged 1 to 5 days in advance, with office hours from 8 am to 5 pm daily.

Cost: $1.75 per trip.
