About this resource

The initiative assists Resource Mentors and Reentry Navigators who engage with individuals one-on-one or in small groups before and after their release, guiding them in finding and utilizing the necessary resources for a seamless transition back into society.

Intake Process: Pre-release resource mentoring requests can be submitted by counselors, chaplains, family members, or other advocates via email at info@nctacoma.org. Requests may also be sent by mail to: New Connections, 613 S 15th St, Tacoma, WA 98405. Individuals who have been incarcerated can self-refer using the same contact details.

Cost: Services are provided free of charge.

Who can use this

The program provides reentry resource mentoring for women at the Washington Corrections Center for Women and for both men and women at Pierce County Jail, with arrangements for visits to other facilities made individually. Appointments for mentoring and referrals can be scheduled through the warm line, which is intended to support formerly incarcerated individuals and their families with basic needs and reentry resources.
