Marriage licenses and certified copies of Marriage Certificates can be obtained in Pierce County. There is a three-day waiting period for licenses to become valid, and they must be utilized within 60 days.

Intake Procedure: Both parties must be present and at least 18 years old with a photo ID to apply for a Marriage License. The application can be initiated online, and if a computer is unavailable, the office provides access. Applications can be submitted in person (both applicants must be present) or via mail (with notarization). Once the license is signed by the couple, officiant, and witnesses, it should be returned to the office to obtain certified copies.

Fees: The cost for a Marriage License is $172, and a Certified Copy of the Marriage Certificate is $3.
