About this resource
This program provides financial credits on a monthly or bi-monthly basis for customers whose incomes are at or below 60% of the Area Median Income. To qualify for the highest credit amount, the utility bill must be paid in full and on time. For additional details, please visit the website or contact customer service.
Application Procedure: Fill out the application online. Customers lacking internet access or needing extra help can reach out to the Customer Solutions office by phone.
Fees: There are no associated fees.
Who can use this
- To qualify, households must meet these requirements: Utilities must be billed directly by Tacoma Public Utilities, the account must be in the customer's name, it should be a single-metered residential account (not serving multiple dwellings), residents must live in the unit full-time, and the household income must not exceed 60% of the area median income. Income thresholds are set as follows: Household of 1 - gross monthly income up to $4,229; Household of 2 - up to $4,833; Household of 3 - up to $5,438; Household of 4 - up to $6,042; Household of 5 - up to $6,525; Household of 6 - up to $7,008.
