This program assesses eligibility for state assistance aimed at supporting participants in covering costs for attendant care and other non-care services that enable older adults and individuals with disabilities to live independently.

Intake Process: You can request an application form by phone, visit a local Home & Community Services office, or apply online at www.washingtonconnection.org.

Fees: Participants may need to pay a participation fee to access services. However, those enrolled in WA Apple Health (Medicaid) can receive services without any participation fee.

Who can use this

The program is tailored for older adults and individuals with disabilities, with eligibility based on care requirements and financial status. Typically, applicants must have a monthly income under $7,304, and their countable resources (excluding their primary residence, necessary transportation, or certain funds) should not exceed: $2,000 for a single adult, $57,547 for a couple, or $123,600 for couples when one partner is in a hospital or skilled nursing facility. Those exceeding the resource limit may still qualify if they anticipate meeting the limit within a month of applying. Additionally, clients must demonstrate a need for help with at least two daily living activities or have a cognitive impairment requiring assistance with one.
