About this resource

This initiative provides high school students with the chance to enroll in college courses while still in high school, which helps lower tuition expenses and enables them to earn their associate degree sooner. Transportation is available for students commuting from Yelm/Rainier.

Intake Procedure: Start by attending an informational session on campus and complete the online application to SPSCC to obtain a Student ID (SID) Number.

Fees: Students participating in Running Start can apply for a Fee Waiver if they qualify based on income criteria for free/reduced lunch, receive TANF, minor SSI benefits, or meet the requirements of the USDA WIC program.

Who can use this

  • Students must be currently enrolled as juniors or seniors in high school.
