Fees: Each Birth Certificate costs $25, and each Death Certificate also costs $25. Payments can be made via credit/debit cards*, cash, checks, or money orders. *A fee of $2.00 or 2.30%, whichever is higher, applies to credit card transactions. For debit cards, a fee of $2.00 or 1%, whichever is greater, will be charged. There is no fee for issuing a birth certificate for a child, requested by a parent or guardian, who qualifies for federal or state food benefits and is enrolling in an early learning program or public K-12 school. Eligibility must be verified with a DSHS determination letter and an official enrollment letter for the current school year from the program or school.
