This program offers private counseling services for veterans who have been honorably discharged and are experiencing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, as well as support for their families. Notably, veterans from King County are not required to have an honorable discharge.
Intake Process: To schedule an appointment, reach out to a counselor directly. Details about available counselors can be found online.
Cost: There are no fees associated with these services.
Who can use this
- Eligible participants include honorably discharged veterans from any war or peacekeeping era and their families in Washington state, excluding King County, where discharge status is not a factor. Additionally, members of the Washington State National Guard or Military Reserve who have been deployed in support of military missions and their families can also qualify. While a PTSD diagnosis is not necessary, veterans must show significant adjustment issues post-deployment to receive outpatient care. There is no requirement for a VA service-connected disability for access to the WDVA PTSD Program, with priority given to those in greatest need or lacking other care options.
