Certain family members may qualify for monthly benefits from a deceased worker, including: a widow or widower aged 60 or older (50 or older if disabled), a widow or widower at any age caring for the deceased’s child under 16 or disabled, an unmarried child under 18 or developmentally disabled, and parents aged 62 or older dependent on the deceased for at least half of their support.
