Who can use this

Monthly Payments are available to widows or widowers aged 60 or older (50 or older if disabled), any age caring for the deceased's child under 16 or disabled, unmarried children under 18 (or up to 19 if full-time students), individuals 18 or older with a disability that began before age 22, certain stepchildren, grandchildren, or adopted children, and parents aged 62 or older who were dependent on the deceased. The one-time payment is for the spouse living in the same household, or if living apart, they can still receive it if they were receiving benefits or became eligible upon the worker's death; children are eligible only if there is no surviving spouse.
