Dshs' Walla Walla Community Services Office
Community Resource
About this resource
This initiative provides financial support programs for low-income families, immigrants and refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. The available programs include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
Intake Process: To apply, individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO). Once an online or paper application is submitted, DSHS will send a letter detailing the interview requirements. Clients seeking emergency financial aid should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone service has a callback option (virtual hold) allowing callers to enter their phone number and receive a return call when it is their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives; the first contact will be a navigator who will assess the situation to determine the best way to assist the caller.
Costs: There are no fees associated.
