About this resource
The initiative pairs adult volunteers with youth aged 6-17 according to common interests, encouraging them to meet for at least one hour each week.
Intake Process: Referrals can come from school intervention specialists, various agencies, personal recommendations, or by reaching out to the "Friends" office directly.
Cost: There are no fees involved.
Who can use this
- Children aged 6 and older in the Walla Walla Valley can participate with parental consent, while adult volunteers must be a minimum of 18 years old and complete the "Friends" screening process, which includes a written application, criminal background check, reference checks, 2½ hours of training, an interview, proof of insurance, and preference forms for volunteer matching.
