About this resource
This program offers monthly financial assistance to individuals with disabilities, including children, who have limited income and resources. Washington state provides an extra supplement, and participants automatically qualify for Medicaid and food assistance.
Intake Procedure: To begin, individuals can call to set up an appointment at a local office or submit an application online. When applying for SSI, individuals will be prompted to indicate if they wish to apply for food benefits and can select either the Basic Food Benefits plan or WASHCAP (Washington State Combined Application Program) benefits.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this program.
Who can use this
- Eligible low-income clients, aged 65 and older or those under 65 who are blind or disabled, can receive SSI benefits, while WASHCAP is available for certain SSI recipients who meet specific criteria.
