IFHC is dedicated to offering information, education, and advocacy services. The Council assists individuals who suspect they have experienced illegal discrimination in housing transactions as per Federal fair housing laws due to their membership in a protected class. These protected classes encompass sexual orientation and gender identity in HUD-funded housing programs, as well as race, color, religion, national origin, sex, physical or mental disability, and familial status (which includes having children under 18). Language assistance is available in all languages through a language line.
