MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS PHONE # 208-533-3145 DISTRICT OFFICE: Idaho's seven health districts collaborate with the Department of Health and Welfare and other state and local organizations. Each district features a board of health appointed by county commissioners and operates independently of any state agency. They cater to local requirements, offering a wide range of services that differ from one district to another. These services include community health nursing, home health care, environmental health, dental hygiene, and nutrition programs, often provided through contracts with the Department of Health and Welfare. For the most current information on available services in your area, reach out to your nearest District Health Department. The Public Health Preparedness and Communication Systems office (Bioterrorism Planning) collaborates with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, public health districts, healthcare providers, and emergency responders to create a comprehensive statewide strategy for preparing for and addressing bioterrorism and other public health crises. These vaccinations are low-cost or free for parents who cannot afford them. Overseas immunizations are available by appointment. Adult vaccines, such as tetanus and diphtheria (Td) boosters, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, pneumonia, and influenza vaccines, may also be accessible.
