About this resource
The Children and Family Services Program evaluates and investigates claims of child abuse, neglect, or abandonment. When required, suitable services are offered to meet the needs of families. This program reviews and assesses reported cases of child abuse, which may involve evaluating family members and the affected child. It assists in obtaining counseling for victims, parents, the alleged abuser, and others involved. Child protective services are provided at no cost. Additionally, the program licenses foster homes and offers certain adoption services, managed by the Division of Family and Community Services. Services are available in English, with interpreters accessible as needed.
