Head Start (Orofino) - Orofino Cent

Head Start is a nationwide preschool initiative aimed at children from income-eligible families, operated by local nonprofit organizations across the country. It accepts applications for children aged 0 to 5 years, specifically targeting families whose income falls below poverty thresholds, as well as those with special needs or at high risk. A limited number of children over the income limit with special needs may also be accepted. The program provides assistance with medical, dental, educational, and social service requirements at no cost. Required documentation includes proof of income, the child's birth date, and immunization records. Head Start offers a variety of supportive services such as social services, parent involvement, nutrition, mental health, health education, disability support, dental care, and transportation. The program enriches the lives of children, families, staff, and the community, helping families navigate life's challenges through quality education and family-centered services. It operates a five-day-a-week program for children aged 0-5, providing four meals daily. Parental involvement is encouraged, and positive parenting classes are offered to support education.
