This private organization collaborates with individuals with disabilities, their families, neighborhoods, and communities to enhance independence and encourage community involvement. The Mental Health/Community Support Program caters to both children and adults by providing assistance in acquiring and applying essential skills for school or work. This encompasses areas such as grooming, communication, managing anxiety, and appropriate behaviors in educational settings. Additionally, it offers support for daily living tasks like personal hygiene, grooming, financial and time management, and transportation use. The program also includes medication management, education on medication effects, and community crisis support aimed at ensuring safety and preventing hospitalizations. Other services include outreach, counseling, developmental therapy, occupational therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation, employment services, and residential habilitation, with service coordination available for ages 3 to 21. The agency participates in meetings with families to facilitate creative problem-solving. Employment services focus on helping individuals with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, learning disabilities, mental health issues, and physical disabilities find and retain jobs.
