MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS PHONE # 208-799-3100Public Health Information Line for Region 2 - 208-748-0400 or 1-866-736-6632DISTRICT OFFICE: The seven health districts in Idaho work in partnership with the Department of Health and Welfare and numerous other state and local organizations. Each district has a health board appointed by county commissioners and operates independently from state agencies. They cater to local requirements, offering a diverse range of services that can differ from one district to another. Services include community and home health nursing, environmental health, dental hygiene, and nutrition programs, often provided through contracts with the Department of Health and Welfare. For the most current information about available services in your area, reach out to your local District Health Department. Additionally, the Health District office oversees the Public Health Preparedness and Communication Systems office, which collaborates with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, other public health districts, healthcare providers, and emergency responders to develop a comprehensive statewide strategy for responding to bioterrorism and other public health crises. These vaccinations are typically low-cost or free for parents unable to pay. Travel immunizations are available by appointment; contact your local health department for specific vaccine requirements for different destinations. Adult vaccines like tetanus and diphtheria (Td) boosters, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, pneumonia, and influenza may also be offered.
