Broome County Social Services Department

This program provides heating support to households with limited income during cold weather crises, potentially available twice a year. It includes additional services such as cooling assistance, maintenance services, and Heating Equipment Repair/Replacement (HERR). The HEAP AC Cooling program is accessible to individuals aged 60 and over or families with children under six who have previously received HEAP and have not obtained air conditioning in the last five years. Those who do not meet these criteria but have a medical condition can qualify with a doctor's order.
