About this resource
The program looks into claims of child abuse and neglect reported to the NYS Central Registry of Abuse and Maltreatment. Services provided may encompass foster care placement for children who have been abused or neglected, preventive services aimed at assisting families in crisis to prevent the need for foster care, casework and referral services, as well as family preservation and support initiatives. Additional offerings include programs for Juvenile Delinquents (JD) and Persons In Need of Supervision (PINS), recruitment, training, and certification of foster parents, and certification of adoptive families for children in foster care. Adult Protective Services assist individuals aged 18 and older who have physical or mental disabilities and lack a support system to fulfill their basic needs, along with an on-call caseworker available for emergencies outside regular hours.
