The initiative is dedicated to fostering asset development opportunities for both residents and entrepreneurs. It aids individuals in enhancing and investing in their communities through the provision of lending capital, training, consulting, technical assistance, seminars, workshops, and affordable business rental spaces for both new and established businesses that might otherwise be unable to access these resources. The program encourages local residents to adopt asset-based thinking by offering financial literacy education, basic budgeting assistance, and home appliance loans to fight against predatory lending practices. Specific loan programs and the Cottage Industry Assistance Program focus on supporting low to moderate-income individuals, while the Chautauqua Microenterprise Loan Fund and the Women and Minority Microenterprise Loan Fund Programs provide financial help for small business startups and expansions. Additionally, the small business incubator allows small enterprises to grow and stabilize with subsidized rent, business services, and technical support.
