About this resource
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to help qualifying households manage their energy costs. Eligible participants may receive one standard HEAP benefit each program year and might qualify for emergency HEAP assistance if they face the risk of running out of fuel or having their utility services disconnected. The 2024-2025 Regular HEAP benefit became available on November 1, 2024, while the First and Second Emergency benefits are set to begin on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit opened on October 1, 2024, and the HEAP Clean and Tune benefit also started on October 1, 2024. The Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to launch on April 15, 2025.

Who can use this
- Regular HEAP is available for low-income families, individuals aged 60 and older, and those with permanent disabilities who receive Food Stamps, TANF, or SSI, while Emergency HEAP is for low-income families and individuals facing emergencies.
