Child Care Assistance - Ecdss

This initiative evaluates families' eligibility for daycare subsidies, fosters high-quality daycare services within the community, and offers guidance to providers to comply with New York State regulations. Childcare assistance is available to qualified individuals through various programs described below. Each program specifies payment methods, necessary documentation, and contact information for inquiries and issues. Temporary Assistance Day Care is offered to TANF or Safety Net households engaged in sanctioned training or work assignments, allowing parents to work or train while receiving daycare services. Transitional Day Care is accessible when a Temporary Assistance case is closed, and daycare is required due to employment; it is guaranteed for 12 months for working families earning at or below a certain percentage of the State Income Standard, which is linked to the Federal Poverty Level. Parents contribute to the care costs based on a sliding income scale. Non-Temporary Assistance Day Care is available for working families earning at or below a specified percentage of the State Income Standard, with contributions based on a sliding scale; this assistance also extends to teen parents in high school and those pursuing a GED under 21. Preventive/Protective Services Day Care is provided to Children's Services recipients when daycare is required as part of their service plan.
