National Fuel has several payment assistance initiatives, special protections, and programs for individuals with special needs to simplify the process of handling utility bills. The Low Income Usage Reduction Program (LIURP) includes services such as heating system checks, energy audits, and installation of weatherization measures, aimed at homes with high consumption levels. Eligible customers must maintain an active account with 12 months of uninterrupted service. The Conservation Incentive Program offers rebates for residential customers in the WNY area who upgrade to energy-efficient appliances, while non-residential customers can also benefit from rebates on select equipment upgrades. The Budget Plan allows customers to spread their estimated annual bill over 12 months for easier monthly payments, including a 10-month plan from September to June. Direct Pay enables automatic payments from checking or savings accounts on the due date, eliminating the hassle of writing checks. Online Services allow customers to manage their accounts electronically, including bill payments and meter readings. Special Protections are available for New York customers aged 62 or older, 18 or younger, blind, or disabled, ensuring heating during winter months. The Neighbor for Neighbor Heat Fund offers one-time cash grants up to $400 for low-income residents to prevent service disconnection or assist with heating fuel purchases. The Hospitalized Customer Assistance Plan provides a 30-day extension on bill payments for those anticipating a hospital stay of 10 days or more. The Extra Security Plan helps retired or disabled customers align bill due dates with income check arrivals for timely payments. Customers receiving HEAP grants are automatically enrolled in the Statewide Low Income Program (SLIP), which offers monthly discounts on gas delivery charges. For those out of work, guidance on available assistance programs is provided. Third-Party Notification allows customers to designate someone to receive reminders or shut-off notices. Assistance Referrals connect customers with community services for payment issues. In case of a gas leak, customers should leave the premises immediately and contact National Fuel at 1-800-444-3130, available 24/7. Intake Procedure: Call or walk in.
