About this resource
This community center acts as a meal site for seniors (refer to Hours below) and offers AARP Defensive Driving courses. It features a summer program along with a wide range of after-school activities, such as the NURTURE Academy. The NURTURE Academy (Neighborhoods United for Restoration Teaching Upliftment Recreation & Education) is designed to enhance the academic success of children in grades K-8, focusing on four main clubs: Reading, Culture, Debate, and Drama. Additionally, students engage in character education, arts and crafts, and recreational activities that promote social growth. The center also serves as a Cooling Center during periods of extreme heat, particularly from June 30th to July 2nd, 2026, from 12 noon to 6 pm. It is advisable to call ahead to confirm the Cooling Center's availability before visiting.
