Employment Program - Gcdss

The initiative focuses on facilitating job searches, referrals, and various support services to help individuals avoid the need for ongoing cash aid. It includes a thorough assessment to pinpoint obstacles to self-sufficiency and offers families strategies to overcome these challenges, along with job readiness training and additional employment-related services like resume creation, interview preparation, and ongoing support to help maintain employment. If deemed cost-effective, the Department of Social Services (DSS) may approve employment-related support services such as vehicle repairs, insurance, transportation aid, and work attire on a case-by-case basis.

Intake Procedure: A face-to-face interview is required.

Fees: No cost.
