Barry Tech

Every year, high school students across Nassau County opt to enhance their education by attending Barry Tech. In addition to obtaining a high school diploma, these students seek to acquire essential skills for employment or gain clarity on their college studies. A successful tenure at Barry Tech can allow you to either enter the workforce post-graduation or pursue further career education in a technical field, potentially leading to a two- or four-year college. The courses at Barry Tech are conducted in realistic environments, such as airplane hangars, horse training stables, carpentry shops, or video production studios, emphasizing hands-on learning over traditional lectures. Alongside their academic courses, every public high school student in New York State has the right to enroll in an occupational course of their choice, with Barry Tech offering around 40 different options. The student body is diverse, with many high achievers from their home schools thriving in the professional atmosphere of Barry Tech, while others find that this practical learning style significantly boosts their academic performance. Barry Tech operates with morning classes from 7:50 to 10:20 and afternoon classes from 11:50 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. The courses blend theoretical knowledge with practical application, allowing students to explore various career paths and learn at their own pace, gaining valuable work-related experience. This environment fosters self-awareness and skill development, as students learn teamwork and build confidence.
