The Town Clerk operates as the Registration of Vital Statistics, Records Management Officer, Marriage Officer, and Licensing and Permitting Agent for both NYS and the Town. This role involves issuing Marriage Affidavits and licenses, dog licenses, taxi and peddler licenses, as well as parking, handicap, shellfish permits, and hunting and fishing licenses. Additionally, the Clerk is responsible for filing all Birth and Death Certificates for the unincorporated areas within Southampton Town and processing Freedom of Information requests for Town Records.
