About this resource
This initiative assists students with disabilities and adults facing employment barriers in attaining independence, work, and a productive economic life. VESID manages special education, offers guidance to students transitioning from school to the workforce, and provides counseling, job preparation, and placement services for adults with disabilities. Additionally, VESID supports businesses with free recruitment services, compliance information regarding Diversity, Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as sensitivity training and consultations for Employee Assistance Programs. VESID has offices in Long Island, specifically in Riverhead at 524 East Main Street (Phone (631)727-6496). The organization collaborates with the Long Island Working Partnership for Workers With Disabilities and Business and Industry, along with the Nassau and Suffolk Placement Networks.
