VESID assists adults whose disabilities create obstacles to employment and productive lives. The program offers guidance to students with disabilities as they move from school to the workforce, along with vocational counseling, job preparation, and placement services for adults. Additionally, VESID helps businesses with free recruitment, compliance information regarding Diversity, Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as providing sensitivity training and consultations for Employee Assistance Programs. VESID collaborates with the Long Island Working Partnership for Workers With Disabilities and Business and Industry, along with the Nassau and Suffolk Placement Networks.
